That's why I was saying Oklahoma will decide the fate of the Big XII.

Texas is happy in the Big XII. They have their Longhorn Network and are making good money. Travel is not very bad. But in expansion they insist on Houston and have the votes to prevent expansion without Houston. All Oklahoma has to do is agree on Houston, and they'll get Big XII expansion. If Oklahoma doesn't agree on Houston, they don't want to stay in the Big XII, so we await their deciding where they want to go.

Then we'll have a better idea of what will happen. A lot of pundits think they'll go Big Ten. I think they'll go SEC. They are a football school first and foremost. The vast majority of the football talent is in the SEC states. Why cut themselves off from that? The football talent in the Big Ten states is drying up faster than ESPN is losing subscribers. Oklahoma fits the SEC just fine. Second choice would be to revisit the PAC12. They recruit California now, so that could work too.

Then if Oklahoma does go to the SEC, the SEC will have Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. Does Texas want to cut themselves off from all of their natural historical rivals and run off to the east coast? I don't think so. So they go there too. This is my best guess.
